Chilterns Family Garden

A 2-acre family garden in the Chilterns with beautiful views over the neighbouring valley. The outdoorsy family had multiple wants & needs, including a kitchen garden, spaces for relaxation & entertaining, as well as play & adventure spaces for the children, and of course a desire to make the most of the outstanding views at the end of the garden.

 

The design features a large dining & entertaining terrace which steps down to a curved formal lawn surrounded by a perennial planting scheme in energising reds, oranges & yellows.  From here you can also catch glimpses of the wildflower meadow & existing mature oak tree. 

 

Naturalistic paths weave through the meadow to the natural swimming pool at the end of the garden, with deck positioned to perfectly take advantage of those views.  The design also includes a separate firepit space, productive kitchen garden & treehouse for the children hidden amongst the mature trees to the front of the property.
