Cambridge Cottage

Cambridge Cottage is a wedding & events venue set within the grounds of Kew Gardens, in south west London.

 

The client needed a multi-functional outdoor space, for use primarily as a wedding & reception space as well as for other events, throughout the year.

 

My inspiration for this design was taken from the elegant simplicity & strong lines of Cambridge Cottage itself, a beautiful example of Georgian architecture.

The design features a sunken outdoor ceremony space with a formal feel, a large terrace with plenty of space for receptions & parties, reflective pools, a sculptural focal point, an avenue of specimen magnolia trees as well as an informal & cosy orchard garden.  Planting schemes for the different spaces are distinct, but refined and simple, in keeping with the elegance of the building.
